Conclusion.
ABSTRACT
Introduction. Direct acting antivirals (DAAs) are known to be more effective, better tolerated allowing short-term treatments. They are of recent introduction in Cameroon. The purpose of this study was to describe the virological response rates at weeks 4, 12 and 24 of treatment in Cameroonian patients with chronic viral hepatitis C genotype 1 treated with the combination Sofosbuvir / Ledipasvir with or without Ribavirin. Methodology. It was a multicenter cohort study involving patients from five centers for the treatment of viral hepatitis C in Cameroon. We collected epidemiological, clinical and paraclinical data of patients treated for at least 4 weeks with the combination Sofosbuvir-Ledipasvir with or without Ribavirin for chronic viral hepatitis C genotype 1. Virological responses at weeks 4, 12 and 24 were described. Results. A total of 144 patients were included, including 57 men and 87 women, a sex ratio of 0.6. The average age of the patients was 61.6 +/- 9.2 years. Cirrhotic patients accounted for 53.4% of cases. The virological response rates at week 4, week 12 and week 24 were 72.9%, 99.2%, and 84.9%, respectively. Conclusion. The combination Sofosbuvir / Ledipasvir with or without Ribavirin makes it possible to obtain respective week 4, week 12 and week 24 virological response rates of 72.9%, 99.2%, and 84.9% in Cameroonian patients with hepatitis Chronic C of genotype 1.
ER -
