Abstract

ABSTRACT
Scalp squamous cell carcinoma (SSCC) accounts for around 2% of all skin cancers, with a mean age at diagnosis of 64.8 years. A 67-year-old farmer with no known medical or surgical history, no history of scalp burns and no history of immunosuppression was referred to us for a scalp tumour that had been evolving for 8 months. Clinical examination revealed a scalp tumour, located in the right fronto-parietal region, painful, foul-smelling and bleeding in places. We opted for excision, followed by directed healing. Histological analysis revealed a squamous cell carcinoma of the scalp.
