Abstract
RÉSUMÉ
Objectif. Décrire le profil épidémiologique et médico-légal des victimes de violences interpersonnelles avec traumatismes nasaux pris en charge à l’unité de médecine légale de l’Hôpital National Donka. Méthodologie. Une étude rétrospective descriptive a été menée du 1ᵉʳ janvier 2022 au 31 décembre 2023. Les paramètres analysés incluaient l’âge, le sexe, la profession des victimes, les circonstances et motifs des agressions, les types de lésions nasales, et l’incapacité totale de travail. Résultats. Sur 176 cas inclus, l’âge moyen des victimes était de 28,32 ±11,20 ans (extrêmes : 3–67 ans), avec une prédominance de la tranche 21–30 ans (42,05 %). Les hommes représentaient 59,09 % des victimes. Les élèves et commerçants étaient les plus touchés (25,57 % chacun). Les agresseurs étaient majoritairement des commerçants (18,75 %). Les agressions survenaient principalement dans la rue (25,57 %). Les lésions osseuses nasales concernaient 39,77 % des cas, dont 68,57 % de fractures simples sans déplacement. Aucun cas d’incapacité totale de travail n’a été enregistré. Conclusion. Les traumatismes nasaux, fréquents dans les violences interpersonnelles, sont majoritairement des fractures non déplacées, faciles à traiter. Une prise en charge précoce est essentielle pour prévenir les complications et séquelles fonctionnelles ou esthétiques. Ces résultats soulignent l’importance d’un système de surveillance des violences et de renforcement des infrastructures médico-légales en Guinée.
ABSTRACT
Purpose. To describe the epidemiological and medico-legal characteristics of nasal trauma victims following interpersonal violence treated at the forensic unit of Donka National Hospital. Methods. A descriptive retrospective study was conducted from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023. Analyzed parameters included age, gender, occupation of victims, circumstances and motives of assaults, types of nasal injuries, and total work incapacity. Results. Among 176 cases, the mean age of victims was 28.32 ±11.20 years (range: 3–67), with the 21–30 age group predominating (42.05%). Males accounted for 59.09% of victims. Students and merchants were the most affected (25.57% each). Perpetrators were primarily merchants (18.75%). Assaults occurred mostly in public spaces (25.57%). Nasal bone injuries were observed in 39.77% of cases, with 68.57% being simple non-displaced fractures. No cases of total work incapacity were reported. Conclusion. Nasal trauma from interpersonal violence predominantly involves non-displaced fractures, which are manageable with early intervention. Prompt care is critical to preventing functional or aesthetic complications. These findings highlight the need for enhanced violence surveillance systems and forensic medical infrastructure in Guinea.
