L’objectif de notre travail était d’évaluer les connaissances, la perception et les attitudes des patients après la prescription d’une mammographie. Patients et Méthodes. Il s’agit d’une étude transversale CAP effectuée de Novembre 2016 à novembre 2018. Résultats. Nous avons colligé 117 patients. Leur âge moyen était de 48 ans. 75% des patientes résidaient en milieu urbain et 47% avaient un niveau d’étude culminant au secondaire. Le rendez vous d’examen était pris dans un délai de  zéro à un jour dans plus de la moitié des cas et sans explication préalable du médecin prescripteur dans 76,07% des cas. La mammographie était de première réalisation dans 82.91% des cas. L’âge et le rythme de réalisation de l’examen n’étaient pas connus dans respectivement 64,70% et 58,11% des cas. Après prescription de l’examen, 55,56% des patients ont eu un trouble du sommeil, 47,01% une préoccupation quant à leur avenir, 39,32% de la déprime et 32,48 de la peur. Une incapacité totale à réaliser les taches quotidiennes est survenue dans 8,55% des cas. Enfin, 41% des patientes ont trouvé l’examen douloureux. Après communication des résultats, 84,61% des patientes se sentaient rassurées et 77,77% ont déclaré avoir mieux dormi. 84,62% des patients ont été satisfaites par le bon accueil et 91,45% ne trouvaient pas d’inconvénient à refaire un nouvel examen. Conclusion. La mammographie est peu connue et peu disponible dans nos pays. Sa prescription entraine des perturbations psychologiques dont il faut tenir compte dans la prise en charge des patients, notamment avec une bonne communication.<br /><br />ABSTRACT<br />Abstract: The purpose of our work was to assess the knowledge, perception, and attitudes of patients after the prescription of mammogram. Patients and Methods: This was a cross sectional KAP study from November 2016 to November 2018. Results. We recruited 117 patients. Their average age was 48 years. 75% of our patients lived in urban areas and 47% had a level of education equal to or less than high school. The delay of examination appointment was less than one day in more than half of the cases.  76.07% of patients had a prescription without preliminary explanation. Mammography was performed for the first time for 82.91% of patients. The age and periodicity of the examination were not known respectively for 64.70% and 58.11% of patients. After the prescription of the exam, 55.56% of patients had a sleep disturbance, 47.01% a concern about their future, 39.32% depression and 32.48% fear. A total inability to perform the daily tasks occurred in 8.55% of patients. Lastly, the examination was painful for 41% of patients. After the reporting, 84.61% of patients felt reassured and 77.77% said their slept better. Satisfaction for a good reception was reported in 84.62% of patients while 91.45% had no objection for a new mammogram. Conclusion. Knowledge and availability of mammography are limited in our country. Its prescription is associated with psychological disturbances that should be taken into account.
