Patients et Méthodes Il s’agissait d’une étude prospective concernant 10 cas de mandibulectomie interruptrice colligés sur 13 mois dans le service d’odonto- stomatologie de l’Hôpital National de Niamey. L’étude a concerné tous les patients pris en charge pour mandibulectomie interruptrice et reconstruction. Un examen notamment anatomopathologique ou histologique a concerné les dix cas. Les caractéristiques épidémiologiques, cliniques, para cliniques, thérapeutiques et pronostiques ont été étudiées. Résultats. En 13 mois, 85 patients ont été enregistrés pour tuméfaction mandibulaire parmi lesquels 10 ont bénéficié d’une mandibulectomie interruptrice avec reconstruction soit une fréquence de 8,5%. Il y avait cinq hommes et cinq femmes, soit un sex ratio de 1. L’âge moyen des patients était de 32 ans (extrêmes 9 et 51 ans). La tranche d’âge de 16 à 30 ans prédominait. Le délai de consultation était de compris entre 3 et 5 ans. L’améloblastome a concerné six patients et était constamment bénin. L’inflammation d’origine infectieuse (ostéite chronique) était présente chez quatre patients. Le traitement était basé sur la mandibulectomie suivie de la reconstruction. L’évolution a été favorable dans la plupart des cas. Conclusion La mandibulectomie couplée à la reconstruction est le traitement de référence pour l’améloblastome et pour l’ostéite chronique. , cette prise en charge est léguée en seconde intention devant la persistance de la destruction osseuse mandibulaire<br />ABSTRACT<br />Objective. To describe the evolution of reconstruction after interruptive mandibulectomy. Patients and Methods. It was a prospective study of ten patients that was carried out over a 13 months period in the dental clinic of the Niamey National Hospital. The study concerned all the patients treated for interruptive mandibulectomy and reconstruction in the said department, with a histological diagnosis. Clinical features, treatment and outcome were studied. Results. During the 12 month study period, 85 patients consulted for mandibular swelling. Among them, ten had an interruptive mandibulectomy with reconstruction (11.7%). There were five men and five women (sex ratio = 1). The average age of the patients was 32 years (range 9-51 years). The 16 to 30 years age group predominated. The average consultation time ranged between 3 and 5 years. Ameloblastoma was found in six cases and was always benign. Chronic osteitis was found in four cases. The evolution was marked over time by a progressive increase in the tumor.
