Conclusion.

ABSTRACT
Objective. To evaluate the practice of radiologists in applying the FIGO 2011 classification of myomas to ultrasound in Abidjan hospitals. Materials and methods. This was an opinion survey that took place over a period of 6 months from january to June 2020 in the radiology departments of the university hospitals of Cocody, Treichville, Yopougon and the military hospital of Abidjan. The aim was to assess the knowledge, practice and reasons for not practicing the FIGO 2011 classification of myomas on ultrasound. Results. There was a male predominance (sex ratio of 1.95) and the average age was 42 years. Radiologists who knew the classification represented 75.81% (n= 41)of our workforce. Among them, only 30.65% practiced it. The reasons for the non-practice were the lack of adequate equipment, namely an endocavitary probe (79.03%)(n= 49) and the lack of training (69.35%)(n= 43). Practitioners who were familiar with the FIGO 2011 classification represented 75.81% (n= 47) of our workforce. The lack of a dedicated probe was the cause of the non-practice in 79.03% (n= 49) of cases. Radiologists who never performed the FIGO 2011 classification represented 69.35% (n= 43) of our workforce. All of the practitioners who performed the FIGO 2011 classification combined the suprapubic route and the endovaginal route. Conclusion. Ultrasound myoma mapping would benefit from being performed by radiologists because of the availability of ultrasound, the safety of ultrasound, the cost of the examination and the contribution for the prescribing physician in the management overall patient. The FIGO 2011 classification is of considerable benefit for the prescribing physician in the management of the patient.
}, number={1}, journal={HEALTH SCIENCES AND DISEASE}, author={Abdoulaye, Toure and Ange Patrick, N’dja and Tina, Gnaoule Debato and Ange Eric, Zouzou and Anicet, Le Dion and Nguessan, Fatto Ebeyss and Casmir, Gbazy Gogoua}, year={2021}, month={Dec.} }
