L’objectif de cette étude était de décrire la première expérience de notre service dans la résection transuréthrale de la prostate (RTUP). Population et Méthodes. Il s’agissait d’une étude rétrospective incluant les patients opérés entre le 1er Avril 2021 le 30 Avril 2022 pour hypertrophie prostatique dans le service d’urologie de Sikasso. Résultats. Nous avons colligé au total 22 patients sur 104 patients opérés pour hypertrophie de la prostate soit une fréquence 21,2% des cas. La tranche d’âge la plus fréquente était 60-80 ans (72,7%). Nos patients ont consulté le plus souvent pour la pollakiurie dans 39,1% suivie de la RAU dans 30,4% des cas. La moitié de nos patients avait un PSA élevé. À l’’échographie réalisée chez tous nos patients, 40,9% des sujets  avaient un poids prostatique entre 60 à 80 g soit. La résection a été faite en monopolaire dans 72,7% des cas.  Les suites opératoires ont été simples dans 86,4 % alors que trois cas 3 cas ont nécessité une conversion en voie ouverte. La durée d’hospitalisation pour 82 % des sujets était comprise entre 3 et 5 jours. Conclusion. La RTUP est le traitement de référence de l’hypertrophie bénigne de la prostate. Cette première expérience nous réconforte dans son utilisation dans notre pratique quotidienne.</div> <div>ABSTRACT</div> <div>Introduction. The aim of this study was to report the first experience of our department in transurethral resection of the Prostate. Population and Methods. This was a retrospective study including patients operated on between April 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022 for prostatic hypertrophy in the urology department of Sikasso. Results. We collected a total of 22 patients out of 104 patients operated on for prostate hypertrophy, i.e. a frequency of 21.2% of cases. The most frequent age group was 60-80 years (72.7%). Our patients consulted most often for pollakiuria in 39.1% of cases, followed by UAE in 30.4% of cases. Half of our patients had a high PSA. Ultrasound was performed in all our patients, the majority had a prostate weight between 60 and 80 g, i.e. 40.9% of cases. The resection was monopolar in 72.7% of cases.  The postoperative course was simple in 86.4% of cases, but 3 cases required conversion to open surgery. The majority of patients had a hospital stay of 3-5 days (82%). Conclusion. TURP is the reference treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
