Décrire les résultats préliminaires du traitement des fractures ouvertes des membres prises en charge initialement dans notre structure. Patients et méthodes. Il s’agissait d’une étude transversale rétrospective sur deux ans allant de Janvier 2018 à Décembre 2019 au service de traumatologie et d’orthopédie du CHU d’Owendo. L’étude incluait les patients admis pour fractures ouvertes des membres et dont le traitement initial a été entrepris dans le service. Les données ont été recueillies à partir des dossiers médicaux, saisies et analysées avec le logiciel Excel version Microsoft 2010. Résultats. Nous avons colligé 63 dossiers dont 47 hommes (74.6%) et 16 femmes (24.4%); leur âge moyen était de 38.05±11,35 ans (extrêmes : 9 – 67 ans). Les accidents de la voie publique étaient l’étiologie la plus fréquente (n=37 soit 58.7% des cas). Les fractures ouvertes classées type II de Gustilo-Anderson étaient prédominantes (n=38 soit  60.3% des cas). La technique d’immobilisation des fractures par fixateurs externes était la plus utilisée (n=24 soit 38.1 % des cas). 8,0 % ont présenté des complications. La suppuration des plaies était la complication dominante (n = 8 soit 12,7% des cas). Lors du dernier suivi, l'évolution était favorable dans 58 cas (92,0%). À ce moment, deux patients (3,2%) avaient une pseudarthrose, deux patients (3,2%) un cal vicieux et un patient (1,6%) une ostéite. Conclusion. Le traitement initial revêt une importance capitale dans la prise en charge des fractures ouvertes des membres. Dans cette étude, les choix thérapeutiques effectués en fonction du matériel disponible nous ont donné des résultats satisfaisants.<br />ABSTRACT<br />Aims. The objective of our study was to describe the results of the treatment of open fractures of the limbs initially treated in the service. Patients and Methods. This was a retrospective two-year cross-sectional descriptive study from January 2018 to December 2019 in Owendo University teaching Hospital. The study concerned the analysis of patients records admitted for open limb fractures and whose initial management was done in our department. For each patient, a data collection form was duly completed and the analysis of the results was done using Microsoft Office Software Version 2010. Results. We stufied 63 cases ( 47 men and 16 women); their mean age was 38.05±11,35 ( range: 6 - 67 years. Road traffic accident was the most common etiology (n =57,  58.7%). Open fractures classified type II by Gustilo &amp; Anderson were the most common type (n=38, 60.3%). The external fixator was the most common treatment modality (n=24; 38.1%). Although rare, wound suppuration was the most common complication (n= 8; 12.7%). At the last follow-up, the results was good for 58 patients (92.0%). Two patients (3.2%) had  pseudarthrosis, two patients (3.2%) had malunion and one patient (1.6%) had chronic an osteitis. Conclusion. The initial treatment is important in the management of open limb fractures. In our series, the therapeutic choices made according to the available material had satisfactory results. ER -
