Conclusion.
ABSTRACT
Aim. To report the results of an end-to-end anastomotic urethroplasty in the treatment of urethral strictures in the urology-andrology department of the Conakry teaching hospital. Methods. We carried out a transversal prospective study from January 1, 2015 to May 31, 2017. All patients admitted to the department for urethral stenosis who underwent end-to-end anastomotic urethroplasty during the study period and who underwent at least three (3) months postoperative follow-up were included in this study. Results. Fifty patients were recruited after terminal anastomotic urethroplasty. The average age of the patients was 45.02 years (extremes: 7-74 years). Urinary bladder retention of was the most frequent reason for consultation (n=41; 82%). Parietal suppuration and acute orchiepididymitis were the most common complications (n=6; 12%). Thirty-eight patients (76%) had a good urinary stream after ablation of the probe. Among them, 60% (n=30) of patients with bulbar stenosis had a good micturition stream followed by stenosis of membranous seat with 14% (n = 7). All patients with post traumatic stenosis (N=18; 36%) and iatrogenic stenosis had good results. Two patients (4%) with post-infectious stenosis had poor results. Conclusion. End-to-end anastomotic urethroplasty is frequently performed in our department with satisfactory results. We found it to be a good technique for the treatment of urethral strictures whatever the etiology. ER -
