ABSTRACT
Ossifying fibroma is a rare benign tumor, most often discovered by chance. The authors report the observation of a 23-year-old patient who consulted for painful swelling of the right jaw. Hard in consistency, ranging from tooth 12 to 15 with the persistence of tooth 53. The dental panoramic x-ray showed a clear, well-defined X-ray image. Treatment consisted of surgical excision of the tumor and extraction of tooth 63 and 13. Histopathological examination concluded with the diagnosis of ossifying fibroma. The diagnosis of fibroids can be difficult to make. Only surgery combined with histological analysis can confirm this.
