ABSTRACT
Dupuytren's disease is a condition that affects the palmar fascia, causing infiltrating and contractile symptoms. The implicated factors include alcoholism, manual labor, microtrauma, and other factors such as diabetes. Previously considered a rare disease in Sub-Saharan Africa, numerous cases have been reported since 1974. In Niger, no cases have been documented to date. We present a case of Dupuytren's disease with bilateral involvement, which was incidentally discovered in a Sahelian farmer and treated with dermofasciectomy and total skin grafting. We recommend the surgical technique used in our case to prevent costly recurrences for our low-income patient.
