RÉSUMÉ

But. Conclusion.

ABSTRACT

Aim. To evaluate the frequency of the vitreo-ratinal interface pathologies using the spectral domain-Optical Coherence Tomography. Patients and methods. Descriptive study carried out in the retinal unit of the ophthalmology department of the Hospital of Instruction, Application and Reference of the Armed Forces of Yaoundé (HIARAY) from June to December 2016. Any patient who came or who were referred, volunteer, who performed an optical coherence tomography of the ocular posterior segment was retained. The variables studied were age, sex, the indication on the bulletin and the diagnosis after interpretation by a physician of the service. The Chi 2 test was used with p <0.05 significant. Results. During this period, 690 eyes of 345 patients underwent spectral domain optical coherence tomography of the posterior segment and 86 eyes of 54 patients had a vitreo retinal interface pathology for a prevalence of 12.46%. The average age was 56.50 years ± 14.31. They were 29 male and 25 female for a sex ratio of 1.16. The pathologies of the vitreo-retinal interface found were: the epi retinal membrane (63.95%), the posterior detachment of the vitreous (23.26%) and the macular hole (8.14%). The vitreomacular traction syndrome was rare with 4.65% of cases. An underlying pathology was present in 44 (81.49%) patients. Conclusion. The pathology of vitreo-retinal interface is more common after the fifth decade in our environment and the epi retinal membrane would predominate. The spectral domain optical coherence tomography becomes indispensable in their diagnosis.
