ABSTRACT
Trans-anal evisceration of the small intestine during anorectal trauma by gornment is rare.
We report the case of an 11 yearS old boy, admitted to the emergency room of the Sikasso hospital for anorectal trauma by goring of beef with trans-anal evisceration of the small intestine. The anorectal trauma occurred during work in the field. We performed an exploratory laparotomy which revealed a 3cm diameter perforation of the anterior face of the rectal ampulla; through this perforation had invaginated 50cm of the small intestine.
We proceeded to suture the rectal perforation, an abundant cleansing of the small intestine with physiological saline and its reintegration. We propose to review the literature in order to discuss the therapeutic modalities.
