Abstract
ABSTRACT
La coarctation de l'aorte, rare chez l'adulte, représente 7% des cardiopathies congénitales. Nous rapportons le cas d'un étudiant camerounais de 24 ans qui présentait des vertiges, céphalées, une hypertension artérielle aux membres supérieurs, une hypotension artérielle et diminution des pouls aux membres inférieurs depuis 3 années. L’angioscanner thoracique a révélé une coarctation de l'aorte et une insuffisance aortique. La chirurgie a été différée faute de moyen financier. Ceci rappelle l'importance de l'identification précoce des signes et le plateau technique difficilement accessible dans notre contexte, qui ne permettent pas un traitement optimal qui réduirait la morbimortalité.
RÉSUMÉ
Coarctation of the aorta represent 7% of congenital heart malformation, rare in adult. We report the case of a 24-year-old Cameroonian student who present dizziness, headache, hypertension for 3 years in upper limbs and hypotension and decreased pulse in lower limbs. CT angiography showed a coarctation of the aorta with regurgitation. The surgical treatment was differed because of his financial indigence. This reminds the importance of early identification of signs and high cost of chirurgical treatment in our context which does not allow optimal management to reduce morbidity and mortality.
