Abstract

RÉSUMÉ
Introduction. Il est admis que la planification familiale (PF) est l’une des stratégies les plus efficientes pour améliorer la qualité de vie des couples mais aussi d’assurer une bonne santé de la femme et de l’enfant. C’est ainsi que le Mali, en 2005 a adopté la stratégie de campagne annuelle de planification familiale qui s’étend sur un mois pour améliorer et rehausser le taux de prévalence contraceptive. Objectif. La présente étude avait pour objectif d’évaluer l’apport et la contribution des campagnes de planification familiale sur l’amélioration de la prévalence contraceptive au Mali. Méthodologie. Il s’agissait d’une étude rétrospective sur une période de trois ans (2020, 2021 et 2022). Les informations sur les campagnes de Planification familiale ont été extraites de la base de données du District Health Information System 2 (DHIS2). Résultats. Nous avons observé une augmentation du nombre d’utilisateurs de PF entre 2020 et 2021 passant de 1 186 913 à 1 305 697, en revanche, un léger fléchissement a été constaté en 2022 avec 1 206 378. La part des campagnes pour les nouveaux utilisateurs de toutes les méthodes était de 26% (305727/ 1186913) en 2020, 21% (271492/1305697) en 2021 et 15% (183003/1206378) en 2022. Le taux de prévalence contraceptive moderne en 2020 était de 17,14% et 17,49% en 2021, c’est en 2022 qu’on a observé une nette amélioration avec un taux de 19,71%. La stratégie équipe mobile peine à trouver ses marques pour atteindre un maximum d’utilisateurs par rapport aux centres fixes. Conclusion. Nonobstant les difficultés rencontrées, nous constatons une légère amélioration des indicateurs de PF qui sont sûrement dû aux effets des activités de campagnes.
ABSTRACT
Introduction. Family planning (FP) is recognized as one of the most effective strategies for improving couples' quality of life and ensuring good health for women and children. In 2005, Mali adopted the strategy of a month-long annual family planning campaign to improve and raise the contraceptive prevalence rate. Objective. The aim of this study was to assess the contribution of family planning campaigns to improving contraceptive prevalence in Mali. Methodology. This was a retrospective study over a three-year period (2020, 2021 and 2022). Information on family planning campaigns was extracted from the District Health Information System 2 (DHIS2) database. Results. We observed an increase in the number of FP users between 2020 and 2021, from 1,186,913 to 1,305,697, with a slight dip in 2022 to 1,206,378. The share of campaigns for new users of all methods was 26% (305727/ 1186913) in 2020, 21% (271492/1305697) in 2021 and 15% (183003/1206378) in 2022. The modern contraceptive prevalence rate in 2020 was 17.14% and 17.49% in 2021, with a clear improvement to 19.71% in 2022. The mobile team strategy is struggling to find its feet and reach as many users as possible, compared with fixed centers. Conclusion. Notwithstanding the difficulties encountered, we note a slight improvement in FP indicators, which is surely due to the effects of campaign activities.
