Abstract

ABSTRACT
Internal carotid artery (ICA) pseudoaneurysm is a serious vascular and rarely post-infectious complication. We report the case of a 23-year-old, man, of poor economic condition admitted for left latero-cervico-facial swelling. His past medical history included untreated dental caries complicated by a streptococcal cervico-facial cellulitis. Clinical examination found a left lag, shiny latero-cervico-facial mass associated to an infectious syndrome. Ultrasound-Doppler showed a left internal carotid artery pseudoaneurysm. AngioCT of supra-aortic trunks could not be obtained. Surgical repair was performed with antibiotic therapy. Post-operative course was uneventful and the patient was discharged from the hospital on post-operative day 5.
