ABSTRACT
We report one case of ulcerative-budding cutaneous leishmaniasis caused by Leishmania major in an immunocompetent woman. The patient was a 21-year-old female with no significant medical history who presented with a painless ulcerative swelling on her left forearm that had been evolving for 4 months. Clinical examination revealed an ulcerative-budding mass, with a fleshy muscle-colored appearance, infiltrated and scattered with blackish dots. Laboratory tests were normal. The diagnosis was confirmed through histology and PCR. Surgical excision, followed by Glucantime infiltration, resulted in complete healing.
