Abstract

ABSTRACT
Overflow of arteriovenous fistula for haemodialysis is defined by a flow rate at the fistula of more than 1.5 litres per minute. It is often the cause not only of complications downstream of the anastomosis such as ischaemic complications of varying severity, but also of central complications such as heart failure. Diagnostic certainty is then obtained by ultrasound of the arteriovenous fistula and by cardiac ultrasound. We report a case of arteriovenous fistula hyperflow for haemodialysis at the elbow.
