Abstract

RÉSUMÉ
Introduction. Le glaucome primitif à angle ouvert (GPAO) est une neuropathie antérieure chronique dont le traitement se fait à vie nécessitant une observance thérapeutique rigoureuse. L’objectif de notre étude est de décrire l’observance du traitement anti glaucomateux chez les patients atteints de GPAO dans notre service. Méthodes. Il s’agit d’une étude prospective et rétrospective à visée descriptive menée dans le service d’ophtalmologie du CHU de Bouaké pendant d’un an. Elle a inclus les sujets glaucomateux déjà suivis dans le service sous traitement depuis au moins 6 mois et ceux reçus pendant la période d’étude qui devraient faire l’objet d’un suivi d’au moins 6 mois. Les aspects étudiés étaient socio-démographiques, thérapeutiques, et l’observance thérapeutique. Les critères de l’observance étaient la régularité du traitement, l’assiduité au contrôle, le respect des horaires et le respect des prescriptions. L’observance était jugée bonne si tous les critères étaient respectés, moyenne si trois critères étaient respectés et mauvaise si au moins deux critères n’étaient pas satisfaits. Résultats. Nous avons étudié 135 sujets. Il y ‘avait 60,74 % d’hommes correspondant à un sex- ratio de 1,55. La moyenne d’âge était de 53,66 ans. Les bétabloquants étaient les médicaments les plus utilisés (49,20 %). La bithérapie était pratiquée dans 44,44 % des cas. L’observance thérapeutique dans le GPAO a été jugée mauvaise chez 56,10 % de nos patients. L’assiduité au contrôle a été le critère le mieux observé (63,70 %). Conclusion. Le glaucome est une pathologie chronique dont le traitement médical est confronté à une inobservance favorisant la cécité.
ABSTRACT
Introduction. Primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) is a chronic anterior neuropathy requiring lifelong treatment and strict therapeutic adherence. The objective of our study is to describe the adherence to antiglaucomatous treatment in patients with POAG in our department. Methods. This is a prospective and retrospective descriptive study conducted in the ophthalmology department of the University Hospital of Bouaké over one year. It included glaucomatous subjects already followed in the department under treatment for at least 6 months and those received during the study period who should be followed for at least 6 months. The aspects studied included socio-demographic characteristics, therapeutic aspects, and therapeutic adherence. Adherence criteria were treatment regularity, attendance at check-ups, adherence to schedules, and prescription adherence. Adherence was considered good if all criteria were met, fair if three criteria were met, and poor if at least two criteria were not satisfied. Results. We studied 135 subjects. There were 60.74% men, with a sex ratio of 1.55. The mean age was 53.66 years. Beta-blockers were the most commonly used medications (49.20%). Combination therapy was practiced in 44.44% of cases. Therapeutic adherence in POAG was considered poor in 56.10% of our patients. Attendance at check-ups was the most observed criterion (63.70%). Conclusion. Glaucoma is a chronic condition, and medical treatment faces issues of nonadherence, leading to blindness.
