Abstract
RESUME
Le syndrome de Lemierre est une entité associant à une thrombophlébite de la VJI, un syndrome clinique, radiologique et biologique secondaire aux infections de la sphère ORL souvent banalisées. Son diagnostic est tardif car pas souvent évoqué et découvert fortuitement.Son origine oropharyngée causée par Fusobacterium necrophorum, décrit par André LEMIERRE est étendue à l’oreille et aux sinus et à d’autres germes.Le traitement est médical et chirurgical. L’anticoagulation est controversée par manque d’études randomisées ; la ligature de la VJI est exceptionnelle. Le cas rapporté est un syndome de Lemierre à porte d’entrée oto-mastoïdienne avec un traitement médical et chirurgical, et ligature de la VJI.
