Abstract
RÉSUMÉ
L’agénésie pulmonaire unilatérale est une malformation congénitale rare, engendrée par l’absence d’une artère pulmonaire. Nous rapportons le cas d'une agénésie pulmonaire unilatérale associée à une malformation cardiaque chez un nourrisson. Elle a été évoquée à la radiographie thoracique par une opacité homogène diffuse d’un hémi champ pulmonaire associée à l’échographie cardiaque par des communications inter auriculaire et inter ventriculaire ayant entrainé une détresse respiratoire. Dans notre cas, cette affection généralement grave a eu une issue fatale avant la confirmation par l’angioscanner thoracique.
ABSTRACT
Unilateral pulmonary agenesis is a rare congenital malformation characterized by the absence of the pulmonary artery. We report the case of a newborn with unilateral pulmonary agenesis associated with a congenital heart disease who presented with neonatal respiratory distress. The diagnosis was based on retractile opacity of a hemithorax on chest x ray associated to atrial and ventricular septal defects on echocardiography. The baby died before cardiopulmonary angioscanner. Unilateral pulmonary agenesis is a serious condition usually associated with complex cardiac malformations.
