Abstract

ABSTRACT
Internal hernias in the abdomen account for only 0.5 to 5.8% of the causes of intestinal obstruction and 0.2 to 2% of the total abdominal hernias. There are three types of internal hernia: internal hernia with normal orifice, internal hernia with paranormal orifice, and internal hernia with abnormal orifice. The authors report the case of an abnormal transomental hernia in a patient aged 28 years who presented 48 hours before admission to the Teaching Hospital University of Brazzaville (CHUB), an intestinal obstruction confirmed by abdominal x-rays without preparation.
